„Hull City“ team has entered into negotiations with the Italian club “Palermo“ for the acquisition of forward Abel Hernandez.
“The Tigers“ are willing to pay 12 million euros for the Uruguayan. Team strategist Steve Bruce is forced to fill the gap left by Shane Long's move to “Southampton“.
Hernandez was previously linked with “Sunderland“ and recently turned down the opportunity to join Portuguese champions Lisbon's “Benfica“. It is believed that the striker is ready to move to Hull.
“Jordan Rhodes' transfer will not happen,“ Bruce said to journalists this week. “This disappoints all concerned, but even more so disappoints people like Jordan.“
“We are close to acquiring several players, especially one who would be a wonderful addition if negotiations are successfully completed,“ he added.
„Until nothing is confirmed, I don't want to say anything else. The offer for Jordan is dead and buried.“
„We received word from Blackburn that they are willing to negotiate. Obviously, within 24 hours that changed,“ Bruce explained.
„If they had said in advance what they were going to do, we would have withdrawn, but everything dragged on. We thought we were close to an agreement, but then the situation changed and the player became unsellable.“
Abel Hernandez scored 14 goals last season and helped “Palermo“ return to “Serie A“. It is believed that the Uruguayan should sign a four-year contract with “Hull City“.
