Living Hungarian football legend Gabor Kiraly has decided to finally say goodbye to the national team.
The 40-year-old goalkeeper was defending the Hungarian national team's goal in the 2016 European Championship. It is now clear that these championships were the veteran's last with the national team.
For many, G. Kiraly will be remembered not for his particularly successful goalkeeping, but for his unconventional pants, which he wore for almost his entire career. The Hungarian himself has said: "I'm not a model, I'm a footballer and I choose clothes that are comfortable for me."
"I'm already 40 years old and I don't think I'm at a level where I can continue to represent the Hungarian national team. So, I decided to stop. I gave myself to the national team," the goalkeeper said.
G. Kiraly spent 18 years in the Hungarian national team and played 107 matches.
Since 2015, the former Hungarian national team goalkeeper has been playing in his homeland. His contract with the "Haladas" club is valid until next summer, so it is believed that this season will be his last in his professional career.
