The Lithuanian national team still has a chance to compete for four spots in next year's European Football Championship. The first teams to compete in the qualifying match were the national teams of Norway and Hungary.
The Hungarians celebrated a 1-0 victory and have the advantage before the home game. The decisive goal was scored by Laszlo Kleinheisler in the 26th minute.
Norwegians did not break the streak of strange losses. In the November months for 20 years, they always lose at home.
The last time Norway participated in the European Championship was in 2000, while Hungary did so in 1972.
The second leg matches will take place on November 15 in Hungary.
