H.Webbas ends his judge career

Neither in the English Premier League nor in any other top-tier football tournament will we see one of the most famous and best referees in the world, Howard Webb.

The 43-year-old referee has decided to retire and take up the position of technical director at a professional referees' association.

"I am happy to start a new chapter in my career after spending 25 years on the football field. I have spent more than 10 years observing the English Premier League from the best seat, and I have been lucky to have been involved in 9 international tournaments and have officiated in UEFA Champions League and World Cup finals," said the famous football referee.

"Refereeing has given me a lot, and I believe it is important that deserving referees do not detach themselves from the game and pass on their acquired knowledge to others," stated H. Webb.

The referee began his career in 1989, officiated in over 500 Premier League matches, and became the first referee to officiate in the Champions League and World Cup finals in the same year in 2010.
