Casillas, who guards the goal for Porto, became the first player to start his 20th season in the Champions League tournament. Not even clubs like Paris Saint-Germain or Atletico Madrid have participated in this tournament as many times throughout their history. Casillas is also the player who has played the most matches in the Champions League so far - 168. Cristiano Ronaldo follows closely behind him with 153 matches. In the current season of the Champions League, Casillas and his Porto team started with a 1:1 draw against Schalke. The Spaniard made his debut in the Old Continent tournament with Real Madrid in 1999, when he was only 18 years old. He played his first match in the group stage against Olympiacos and became the tournament winner in the same season.
