While football world was boiling with excitement over the creation of the Super League, UEFA Champions League also changed its format. Starting from the 2024-2025 season, Champions League will no longer feature 32, but 36 teams, who will have to play even more matches and the usual group stage will be abandoned. It seems that this format is not pleasing to some football players as well, and Manchester City goalkeeper Ilkay Gundogan decided to express his opinion on the matter. "The Super League still raises a lot of excitement, but maybe we can also talk about the new format of the Champions League? The number of matches keeps increasing and nobody thinks about the players. The new format of the Champions League is simply a lesser evil compared to the Super League. The current tournament format works just fine and that's why it is the most popular competition in the world," - wrote I. Gundogan on the social network "Twitter."
