On Tuesday, a meeting of the LFF Discipline Committee took place, during which the incident of Vilnius "Žalgiris" head coach Igor Pankratjev in the referees' room after his team's 3rd round match against Panevėžys "Ekranas" in the "A lyga" was discussed.
At that time, I. Pankratjev was very unhappy with the referee Viktor Chileckis' work during the match and not only talked about it at the press conference - after the game, the coach went to the referees' dressing room and, as stated in the match protocol, "hit the field referee with hands and feet."
For such inappropriate behavior, the LFF Discipline Committee strictly penalized I. Pankratjev. He will not be able to lead the team for the next 15 matches of the Lithuanian "A lyga" and must pay a fine of 10,000 litas. Meanwhile, Vilnius "Žalgiris" club was fined 5,000 litas because the hosts did not ensure the safety of referees after the matches at the "Žalgiris" stadium.
So, approximately until the month of July, I. Pankratjev will not be able to lead the capital's team. His place will be temporarily taken by another legendary representative of "Žalgiris," Viacheslav Sukristov, who has been working as an assistant coach and took over the team's helm last August after the resignation of Saulius Širmelis.
