After the UEFA Champions League quarter-final match on Wednesday, Barcelona goalkeeper Ivan Rakitic joked that even Manchester City players admired Lionel Messi's game.
The Argentine was the standout star of the match at Camp Nou and his assist to Rakitic helped Barcelona defeat Manchester City with a score of 1-0 (3-1 aggregate) and advance to the next stage of the tournament.
"He's amazing, incomparable... It's impossible to find words to describe Messi anymore," Rakitic told Canal Plus. "No one knows what else can be said about him."
"I think even Manchester City players enjoyed Messi's football last night. I hope he continues to show this form," Rakitic added.
In the second half, Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen saved Sergio Aguero's penalty shot from eleven meters and protected Barcelona from potential trouble, but Rakitic also praised the opponent's goalkeeper Joe Hart for his excellent performance.
"Congratulations to Manchester City's goalkeeper, he is a great player in his position and he proved it once again today," added the former Sevilla star.
This weekend, Barcelona will also face their eternal rival Real Madrid at home.
