I. Rakitić extended contract with "Barcelona"

After the impressive UEFA Champions League quarterfinal performance, "Barcelona" camp was surrounded by another great news - team's midfielder Ivan Rakitić has extended his current contract until the summer of 2021.

In 2014, the Croatian arrived in the Catalan capital and immediately successfully integrated into the team's game and became a key player in the starting lineup, but this season the midfielder had to fight hard for a place in the starting eleven, however, after a little struggle, he returns to old habits.

There have been rumors in the media that I. Rakitić is considering a move to England, more specifically - to "Manchester City" led by Pep Guardiola. However, this deal will not happen - the Croatian decided to stay in Barcelona.

Official statement states that the buyout clause in the new contract for I. Rakitić is 125 million euros.

This season, I. Rakitić played 37 matches and scored six goals. The Croatian has already won the Spanish league twice and once celebrated the Champions League trophy with "Barcelona."
