IFAB came up with changes to football rules that will make your jaw drop

The International Football Associations Board (IFAB) has proposed several innovations that could change the face of football, writes lrytas.lt.

IFAB has presented proposals to change several football rules, and one of them - matches should not last 90 minutes, but only seventy.

However, just like in basketball or ice hockey, the time of the matches would be stopped during compulsory breaks or infringements, so clubs would play seventy minutes of "clean" time.

IFAB also proposes to award an 11-meter penalty kick when a defender passes the ball with his foot to the goalkeeper in the penalty area - until now, it has been provided that a free kick is awarded.

Another idea from IFAB is to remove from the field those footballers who deliberately use their hand to score goals or hold the ball with their hand while running towards the goal.

IFAB is responsible for improving and implementing football rules. If a new innovation or rule change is suitable for the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA), they must also be approved by the football federations of Scotland, England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
