Ilkay Gundogan decided not to spread his wings to another European team and extended his contract with Borussia Dortmund until 2017.
The 24-year-old midfielder's contract with the "yellow blacks" was supposed to expire in the summer of 2016, but the German decided to extend it for another year.
There were rumors in the media that I. Gundogan would move to Manchester United or Barcelona, and recently Paris Saint-Germain officials also expressed interest.
"I am glad that finally this situation has been resolved and I can continue to play for Borussia," said the German. "Now all my focus is on preparing for the new season."
This season, I. Gundogan played 33 matches in the Borussia eleven and scored three goals.
