Impressive battle in Zagreb ended with Croatian national team's revenge against the Spaniards

On Thursday, the 5th round of UEFA Nations League matches started in the Old Continent.

In League A, the Croatian national team fought for vitally important points. After being humiliated by the Spaniards in the first match, the Croats stood up at home - after a dramatic battle, they won with a score of 3:2.

All goals were scored in the second half. In the 54th minute, Andrej Kramaric put the Croats ahead, but during his next attack Dani Ceballos equalized.

However, in the 69th minute, the Croats regained the lead - after a great pass from Luka Modric, Tin Jedvaj scored his first goal for the national team.

The Spaniards managed to respond even to the hosts' attacks - Sergio Ramos accurately converted a penalty kick in the 78th minute.

Croatia desperately needed a win, so until the very last minutes, there was a real battle on the field. In extra time, the Croats pressed their opponents, and the same T. Jedvaj sensationally extended the victory to the hosts in the 93rd minute.

Spain will not drop below second place in their group, as Croatia and England each have four points. It is precisely the clash between these two teams that will end the group stage. Spain most likely missed the opportunity to secure a place in the European Championship qualifiers, unless the Croats and the English end up with a tie.

In another match in League A, Belgium defeated Iceland, while in League B there was one goalless draw. Greece and Hungary emerged victorious over their opponents in League C.

In League D, Belarus and Moldova celebrated victories, while Latvia played to a draw and failed to defeat Kazakhstan on the road.
