During the last quarterfinal match of the Italian Cup (Coppa Italia) on Thursday, the Turin club defeated the hosts and current leaders of Serie A, breaking their streak of 16 consecutive unbeaten matches and taking a firm step towards the semifinals.

In difficult weather conditions with heavy snowfall in Turin, in the match, "Roma" demonstrated excellent football from the very beginning and took the lead in the 38th minute after Alessandro Mancini's goal. It is worth mentioning that the Brazilian, who recently returned to the field after an injury, has been scoring goals in all matches played so far.

After just over an hour of play, due to a serious mistake by the "Juventus" defenders, Damiano Tommasi was left completely free in front of the opponent's goalkeeper and scored from a few meters away.

Shortly thereafter, the advantage of "Roma" became overwhelming, as in the 68th minute Simone Perotta sent the ball into Christiano Abbiati's goal for the third time with a great shot. However, "Juventus" did not give up, and just four minutes later, in a counterattack, Alessandro del Piero reduced the gap, scoring his second goal in the fourth minute of added time by the referee.

Although the goals scored by A. Del Piero at the end of the match gave hope to the Italian champions, going into the return leg at home, "Roma" is currently in a much better position - they only need a draw or even a one-goal loss if "Juventus" fails to score more than twice.
