Yesterday, neutral football fans eagerly awaited the continuation of Iceland's fairytale in the World Cup, and they certainly were not disappointed.
Guided by Helmir Hallgrimsson, the team extended their credentials by holding the vice champions, Argentina, to a draw and took a solid step towards qualifying for the tournament's quarter-finals.
Although Iceland is playing in the World Cup for the first time, even more impressive is the fact that they represent the smallest country in the history of the tournament, and comparing with the prestigious Argentina doesn't make sense at all.
In Iceland, there are only 330,000 people, while in their opponents' country the number of registered footballers alone is almost 332,000, and football is played here by over 2 million inhabitants in general.
The representatives of Northern Europe can only hope that they will continue to maintain the impressive game that captivated fans when they shockingly defeated England in the European Championship.
Registered footballers in Argentina: 331,811
Population of Iceland: 330,000
Score: 1-1
