Impressive "Werder" Victory in the Bundesliga © EuroFootball.com

After playing six matches in the seventh round of the German football championship - triviality. Having won victories and collected thirteen points, the defending champions "Bayern", "Werder", and "Schalke" clubs share the title. The opportunity to join the trio is presented by the "Nurnberg" team, who will play against "Arminia" on Sunday.

On Saturday, the central match of the round took place in Munich, where the local "Bayern" met the visitors from the capital, "Hertha". The hosts started the match very successfully - in the 7th minute, R.Makaay put "Bayern" ahead, and after six minutes, W.Sagnol doubled the score after C.Pizarro's cross into the penalty area.

The Bavarians continued to dominate and create opportunities - two dangerous shots by Bastian Schweinsteiger missed the goal, while a shot from close range by L.Podolski was saved by the crossbar for Hertha.

After the break, the hosts further increased their lead, and after a precise combination, C.Pizarro scored. However, this did not break the Berlin team, and with less than twenty minutes remaining in the match, only one goal separated the teams - in the 57th minute, the unmarked M.Fathi scored a header, and in the 73rd minute, M.Pantelic beat O.Kahn.

L.Podolski, a newcomer to "Bayern" contributed to the score in this match - in the 78th minute, starting a counterattack, R.Makaay passed the ball to W.Sagnoli, who crossed the ball accurately into the penalty area, and L.Podolski successfully sent it into the net, scoring his first goal in the Bundesliga and securing his club's victory.

In the next match, the "Werder" players achieved an impressive victory as visitors, "sweeping" the returning "Bochum" team to the Bundesliga with a score of 6-0. It is interesting to note that the Bremen team scored four goals in the last fifteen minutes of the match, and even half of the team's goals were scored by defenders.

After seven rounds of the league, it becomes increasingly clear that the successful team of the previous season, "Hamburger," will not compete for the top positions this year - the team from the port city suffered a 1-2 defeat at home against "Schalke" on Saturday and remains the only Bundesliga team that has not yet won a game. It is worth mentioning that in Saturday's match, "Hamburger" missed an eleven-meter penalty and played with ten men throughout the second half. This defeat pushed "Hamburger" down to almost the penultimate position in the league standings.
