In a Critical Situation, Manchester United Would Sell Its Academy Stars © Reuters

"Manchester United" club finds itself in a critical situation.

According to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, the "Red Devils" would be willing to sell Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo for large sums.

The academy stars may be sold to ensure that "Man Utd" complies with the Premier League's financial sustainability rules. This summer, clubs like "Chelsea," "Everton," "Aston Villa," and "Newcastle" were scrambling to avoid falling foul of these regulations.

Violating these rules would mean point deductions.

Kobbie Mainoo's services have already attracted interest from "Chelsea," adds Chris Wheeler from the "Daily Mail."

Another academy graduate, Marcus Rashford, is also on the trading block.
