On Wednesday at 19:55 in the evening, two matches of the 5th round of the UEFA Champions League in groups G and H were played.
A fantastic battle was recorded at the "Mestalla" stadium, where the clubs "Valencia" and London's "Chelsea" clashed. After an intense battle, the winner did not emerge - "Valencia" and "Chelsea" ended in a 2:2 draw.
After the draw, both teams have the same number of points, but due to a better head-to-head record, "Chelsea" stands above "Valencia", although the latter will face Amsterdam's "Ajax" in the last round.
"Valencia" took the lead in the 40th minute of the match, but just a minute later, Mateo Kovacic equalized with a clever shot. This was Kovacic's first goal in the "Blues" jersey.
At the start of the second half, "Chelsea" turned the result around after Christian Pulisic's goal. In the 65th minute, "Valencia" had the chance to equalize, but Kepa saved Dani Parejo's shot from the penalty spot.
However, in the 82nd minute, the hosts managed to equalize - Daniel Wass sent the ball into the net with a fantastic shot from a cross.
At the end of additional time, "Valencia" had the opportunity to snatch victory, but Rodrigo failed to direct the ball into Kepa's goal from a promising position.
In another important match, the team of St. Petersburg "Zenit" secured a victory at home against "Lyon". The Russians were led to victory by Artem Dzyuba and Magomed Ozdoev. Both "Zenit" and "Lyon" have 7 points each.
