Panevėžys' "Ekranas" team lost in a friendly match in Marijampolė to Bialystok's "Jagellonia" team with a score of 0:2 (0:0).

The match started at a slow pace, and nothing surprising happened: there was a great heat in the air. There was a battle for ball control in the middle, and after a longer "Jagellonia" attack, a response from "Ekranas" was expected, but neither team was able to create significant scoring chances in the first half. In the 28th minute, the opponents had three consecutive corner kicks, but the players from Ekranas successfully defended against them.

In the middle of the half, the referee briefly stopped the match so the players could have a drink of water.

In the 38th minute, Aurimas Vertelis received the ball on the right side, fooled the opponent, and would have entered the penalty area, but was illegally stopped by a defender and the referee awarded a free kick. However, the set piece was not used accurately: after a high pass into the penalty area, a Jagellonia player cleared it out of bounds, and after a corner kick, Jagellonia successfully defended.

After the break, there were immediately several substitutions: Tadas Kauneckas appeared on the field instead of goalkeeper Emilijus Zubas, Tadas Markevičius came on for Vitalijus Kavaliauskas, and Dovydas Norvilas replaced Arno Riboko.

In the 55th minute, Panevėžys lost the ball in the center and the opponents launched a quick attack, which led to M. Makuszewski entering the penalty area and accurately sending the ball into the net.

After the goal, "Ekranas" made two more substitutions - Egidijus Varnas came on for Žilvinas Kymantas, and Edvinas Girdvainis replaced Mantas Samusiovas.

Although it was a friendly match, there was no shortage of rough play. After one rough foul against E. Varnas, players from both teams tangled, and Giedrius Tomkevičius was shown a yellow card. Later, due to excessive action in the penalty area, D. Norvilas also received a yellow card.

In the 73rd minute, the last substitutions were made for "Ekranas" - Rytis Pilotas replaced A. Vertelis, and Edgaras Baranauskas came on for Marko Andelkovičius.

As the match was nearing its end, E. Baranauskas clashed with the goalscorer M. Makuszewski after a foul and soon both players were sent off the field by the referee.

With only one minute left to play, "Ekranas" conceded a second goal: D. Plizga found himself alone against the goalkeeper during a quick attack and accurately placed the ball into the net.

Shortly after, the referee blew the final whistle, declaring a victory for the visiting team from Poland.
