Thousands of football fans during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar will have the opportunity to choose camping sites as accommodation, located in the desert.
Such camping sites will help the World Cup in Qatar to meet FIFA's requirements for the necessary number of places to accommodate football fans and honorable guests.
According to calculations by officials responsible for tourism in Qatar, at the end of 2015 there were approximately 20,700 rooms in the country's hotels and other accommodation places. However, according to FIFA's requirements, there should be at least three times more.
The organization's plans already include increasing the number of rooms to 46 thousand, including accommodating guests on cruise ships.
However, this is still not enough, and according to the authorities in Qatar, looking towards the future, camping sites in the desert are the best option. Although it will require additional infrastructure, organizers believe it is still a more practical option than building new hotels that would remain completely empty after the championship.
It is believed that such accommodation can attract even more people, as living in such campsites allows you to better acquaint yourself with Qatar's wild nature and its life at the same time.
