In Alytus - Victory for Suduva

„In the “TOPsport A League”, Marijampolė’s „Sūduva” achieved revenge for the failure experienced in the first round. In the 14th round, the residents of Marijampolė defeated Alytus DFK „Dainava” footballers as guests 1:0 (0:0).

In the first half, the guests attacked more aggressively. Volodymyr Krynskis had to fend off a dangerous shot from Maksym Pyrogov, and later the goalkeeper caught a shot from his compatriot Artiom Fiodorov.

On the other side of the field, Giedrius Zenkevičius dealt with Artiom Baftalovskis' attempt. After the break, „Sūduva” struck with an unexpected weapon: in the 58th minute, Ernestas Burdzilauskas headed the ball towards Augustas Dubickas, who sent it powerfully from a distance into the goal.

For A. Dubickas, this was his first goal in the “TOPsport A League”.

„Dainava” also attacked fairly dangerously after lifted corners, in the middle of the second half, coach Sergejus Kuznecovas sent in two strong forwards. In the 87th minute, even from a set piece, Glibas Gračiovas unfortunately missed the goal.

Both teams have 16 points and are in the middle of the tournament table.
