In the English Premier League on Saturday, the fixtures of the 10th round were played.
In London, there was a city derby, where "West Ham" and "Chelsea" players clashed. The "Hammers" proved their advantage against the country champions and forced them to suffer another defeat.
The match started with pressure from the "West Ham" team. In the 17th minute, the hosts achieved their goal - after a precise pass from Dimitri Payet, Mauro Zarate defeated Asmir Begovič and brought the team forward.
The first half for the "West Ham" club unfolded excellently not only because of the goal, but also because of the red card received by the opponents. In the 44th minute, Nemanja Matić earned his second yellow card and "Chelsea" was left with ten men.
Nevertheless, in the 56th minute, Gary Cahill managed to equalize the score, but the final blow came in the 79th minute, thanks to Andy Carroll.
This is the fifth defeat for "Chelsea." With 11 points, the "Blues" are ranked only 15th, while "West Ham" continues to compete with the leaders of the table.
In other matches, victories were achieved by "Swansea," "Leicester City," "West Brom," and "Watford."
In the last evening match, London's "Arsenal" and Liverpool's "Everton" faced each other. Playing at home, the "Gunners" surpassed the opponents from Liverpool with a score of 2-1.
In the 36th minute, Olivier Giroud brought the hosts forward, and just two minutes later, defender Laurent Koscielny increased the lead. At the end of the first half, the "Reds" managed to reduce the deficit, but the final result remained 2-1.
After the victory, "Arsenal" temporarily climbed to the first place with 22 points.
