On Saturday, the first matches of the 30th round of the English Premier League were played.
An unexpected result was recorded in Southampton, where Mauricio Pochettino's return was marked by failure. London's Tottenham failed to hold on to their goal advantage and lost to Southampton with a score of 1:2.
For a long time, the match unfolded according to the desired scenario for Tottenham, but the visitors from the capital fell apart at the end of the meeting.
In the 26th minute, Harry Kane put Spurs ahead, but in the 76th minute Yann Valery equalized. In the 81st minute, a penalty was awarded at Hugo Lloris' penalty area, which was perfectly executed and brought victory to the hosts by James Ward-Prowse.

Solomon Rondon reduced the deficit in the 65th minute, and Ayoz Perez scored a brace in the 81st and 84th minutes.
The remaining matches ended with victories for Brighton, Cardiff, Bournemouth, and Leicester.
