On Friday, 2014 World Cup qualifying matches began in Europe.

In Group A, at home the Croats forced the Macedonians to surrender after N. Jelavic's strike - 1-0.

Belgium defeated Wales 2-0 away, with Wales playing almost two thirds of the match without the sent-off Collins.

In Group B, Italy played 2-2 away with the Bulgarians, while Armenia, the leader of the group, defeated Malta 1-0.

In Group C, Germany's national team crushed the Faroe Islands 3-0 at home - J. Löw's pupils scored all the goals, with one by M. Götze and two by M. Özil.

A surprise in Group E as Iceland saddened the Norwegians 2-0 in front of their own spectators.

In Group F, the Portuguese barely avoided a sensation, winning 2-1 away after great efforts against Luxembourg. The winning goal in the second half was scored by H. Postiga.

In Group H, England showed no mercy with a 5-0 away win against Moldova, while Montenegro and Poland played a 2-2 draw.

In Group F, Finland lost 0-1 at home to France, and Georgia defeated Belarus 1-0 in front of their own spectators.
