The guests were led ahead by Musa Al-Taamari in the 5th minute. Ilimanas Ndiaye equalized the score in the 31st minute. OM took the lead in the 43rd minute through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
In the 62nd minute, P.E. Aubameyang scored a brace and doubled the score by converting a penalty kick from 11 meters. In the 82nd minute, Montpellier defender Falaye Sacko scored an own goal.
