Renewed Germany national team failed to start the international match cycle triumphantly.
The team coached by Joachim Low got into a friendly match with Serbia. The teams exchanged goals in the packed stadium in Wolfsburg.
In the 12th minute, Serbia took the lead and held on to it until midway through the second half. The guests were brought forward by the well-known German footballer Luka Jovic.
However, in the 69th minute, the Germans were saved from defeat by Leon Goretzka.
Germany will play their first European Championship qualifying match against the Netherlands on Sunday.
