On Wednesday, the Lithuanian national men's team played a friendly match in preparation for the 2014 World Cup qualifying matches.

Away from home, the Lithuanians faced opponents from Luxembourg. They were unable to snatch a victory and the Luxembourg team came out on top.

Our team took the lead first, when in the 15th minute a confusion in the penalty area allowed Deivydas Matulevičius to beat the opponent's goalkeeper.

The second half began with a painful response from the hosts. After a quick attack, an equalizing goal was scored by Aurelienas Joachimas.

However, the Lithuanian national team had to admit the superiority of their opponents. As the match approached the end, Luxembourg footballers secured the decisive point and celebrated a victory with a score of 2-1.

We would like to remind you that Csaba Laszlo's players will face Latvian footballers in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers on September 6.
