In the 18th minute, Juan Bernat showed individual skill and put Bayern ahead. The hosts dominated the field throughout the game, but the visitors had a chance to equalize - in the 86th minute, Hamit Altintop missed a penalty kick.
In other matches, Borussia Dortmund defeated Hoffenheim 2-1 and reclaimed the third position. Goals from Marco Reus and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang led the yellow and black team to victory.
