During Friday evening's "La Liga" match, "Girona" unexpectedly defeated Bilbao "Athletic" with a score of 2:1 at home.
All goals in the match came in the second half. In the 67th minute, David Lopez put the home team ahead with a header, and in the 75th minute, Ivan Martin doubled "Girona's" lead with a great goal.
Just 4 minutes later, "Athletic" narrowed the gap when Gurka Guruzeta scored after a pass from Oscar de Marcos. However, this goal was not enough for the visitors to secure at least a draw in this match.
Bilbao "Athletic" missed the opportunity to move up to the top four and currently remain in a lower position on the league table. Meanwhile, "Girona" is placed in the thirteenth position.
