The country's football legend, 38-year-old goalkeeper Choirulas Hula, died after colliding with his teammate - "Persela" club defender Ramon Rodrigues.
The tragedy occurred in the 45th minute during the Indonesian championship match against the Padang team "Semen" with the hosts leading 1-0.
The goalkeeper ran out of the goal and tried to stop the opponents' attack, but while catching the ball, he received a blow to the head from the defender.
Initially, the goalkeeper reacted to what was happening around him, but then lost consciousness and was taken to the hospital. The cause of death was a brain injury.
