In Indonesia - lynching trial for a match referee

Indonesian Second League football championship - referee lynching.

Players of one of the teams involved were dissatisfied that the referee awarded a penalty kick and decided to teach him a lesson with their hands and feet, according to lrytas.lt.

The incident with the referee's assault took place during a match between the "Persegres" club and Vamena's "Persiwa". In the 90th minute of the game, the referee awarded a penalty kick to the visitors.

The "Persiwa" footballers disagreed with this decision and attacked the match referee: only with shoving and trying to explain that everything was wrong, the incident did not end. The visitors' players started trying to hit the referee with their hands and feet.

Amidst the tensions, two red cards were given to two visitors' club players, the hosts scored the penalty kick and won 2-1.
