Working as a football referee in Iran is deadly dangerous.
This was evident in a match between the teams "Chooka Talesh" and "Shahrdari Dezfool" of the lower league, where the referee barely escaped unharmed.
The incident occurred after a second red card was shown to one of the "Chooka" players. He got enraged and snatched the card, hitting the referee in the face. The team's coach rushed to his aid.
The passions did not calm down - even though several people helped the referee leave the field, he had already been hit multiple times by the players and fans who ran onto the field.
