The eleventh round of Serie A started with two matches. One of them took place in Verona, the other in Milan.
In the previous match, Hellas lost in front of their own fans to Bologna, who started the season in the highest division and achieved their second consecutive victory.
Although the statistics of the teams were similar, the outcome of the match was decided early on, as both goals scored by Emmanuele Giaccherini and Godfred Donsah fell within the first 15 minutes.
After the victory, the winners climbed to the fourteenth position, while Hellas remained in the relegation zone.
The Milan fans gathered at the San Siro stadium were disappointed as the rossoneri failed to score against Atalanta in this match. However, the 16-year-old home team goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma also remained unbeaten.
It is worth mentioning that even though the scoreboard ultimately showed zeros, there was certainly no shortage of action on the field. In the match, 33 fouls were recorded and eight yellow cards were shown.
The points earned by Sinisa Mihajlovic's team allowed them to rise to the fifth position, but there is almost no doubt that after tomorrow's matches, Milan will no longer be in this position. Atalanta is ranked two steps lower.
