On Friday, the fourth "Serie A" season started in Italy, and it was the "Cagliari" team that began with a victory, defeating "Genoa" 3:1 at home.
All the goals were scored in the second half, and the hosts were brought into the lead in the 46th minute by Giovanni Simeone.
"Genoa" managed to equalize the score in the 83rd minute, when Cristian Kouame scored, but just a minute later, the visitors' defender Cristian Zapata directed the ball into his own net and restored the lead for the "Cagliari" team.
In these matches, Joao Pedro helped secure the victory by scoring the third goal for the hosts in the 87th minute.
This was the second victory for the "Cagliari" team this season.
