On Saturday, the first two matches of the 31st round were played in Italy. Turin's "Juventus" footballers achieved their 23rd victory of the season, defeating "Empoli" team at home with a minimal result of 1:0.
It was not easy for the Italian champions against "Empoli", and the victory for the Turin team was determined by the only goal scored by Mario Mandžukič in the 44th minute of the match. Scoring the 7th goal of the season in the "Serie A" championship, the Croatian player helped the "Juventus" team extend their winning streak in the Italian league to five.
After this victory, "Juventus" moved ahead of "Napoli", who occupies the second place and will play their 31st round match tomorrow, leading by six points.
In another match on Saturday, "Sassuolo" defeated "Carpi" 3:1.
