Two matches marked the penultimate round of the Italian Championship. Both of them featured Milan teams. In the first match, Inter's players, playing at home against Empoli, the main events happened in the first half. In the 12th minute, Mauro Icardi scored for Roberto Mancini's team, but Manuel Pucciarelli managed to equalize in the 37th minute. Just three minutes later, Ivan Perisic's goal gave Inter the lead again, and as it later turned out, this strike was decisive. After the break, the visitors tried to level the score, but their attempts were unsuccessful. A bit later, Milan, away from home, faced Bologna. One of the most important moments of these matches also happened in the 12th minute - that's when the home team's 18-year-old defender Amadou Diawara received a second yellow card and was sent off. Taking advantage of the numerical superiority, the Rossoneri scored a goal at the end of the first half. However, despite the victory, the performance of the teams from the "fashion capital" was not impressive. Carlos Bacca's goal came from a penalty kick, and the other players failed to make a mark. Thanks to the three points gained, Inter secured fourth place, while Milan temporarily moved up to sixth.
