Lithuania's men's football team had to recognize the advantage of the Hungarian team in the European Championship qualification G group match on Tuesday evening, which ended 0:2.
Lithuanians conceded one goal in each half and had to swallow a bitter pill of failure and remain with just one point.
In the other evening match of Group G, Bulgaria hosted guests from Serbia. The Bulgarian coach from Serbia, Mladen Krstajič, who has also coached his national team in the past, was moments away from a very important and necessary victory, but it was not meant to be.
For a long time, Bulgarians were leading 1:0 in the match and it seemed like they could secure a victory, but the Serbians had other plans.
In the added minute of extra time, Darko Lazović with a strong shot from the penalty area beat the hosts' goalkeeper, making the score level at 1:1 and the points were shared by both teams.
Meanwhile, Montenegro tested their strength in a friendly match. However, the test did not go well against future Lithuanian opponents, as they lost 1:4 at home to the Czech Republic.
In the middle of the second half, Montenegro reduced the deficit to 1:2, but they failed to do more and experienced failure. It is Montenegro who will be Lithuania's future opponents - these two teams will meet in Kaunas on September 7.
On that day, the Serbians will host the Hungarians at home as favorites, while the Bulgarians will face Uzbekistan in a friendly match on September 6.
