„The TOPsport A League“ last month unfolded productively for the leaders, the Kaunas district „Hegelmann“ club that did not let go of the lead.

The blue and white team firmly established themselves in 2nd place, so after counting the votes of the championship commentators and online show hosts, the best coach of May was Andrius Skerla.

„Hegelmann“ team won three matches in May - beat Telšiai „Džiugas“, „Panevėžys“ and Alytus DFK „Dainava“, played draw matches with Vilnius „Žalgiris“ and FA Šiauliai“.

With 29 points, the Kaunas district footballers are in second place, and A. Skerla shared his thoughts on the past month.

„After a quite tense month of April, May came - an even tenser month, with seven matches played for the cup. It's pleasing to see the team's form, how the team plays away matches. It is important that we have chosen quite a few points, solidified in second place, built up a small advantage over our opponents, but this is only the first part of the championship.

The main highlights that made this possible - before each match I had the strongest composition and all the players ready to play. Yes, it is difficult to avoid microtraumas, but there were some and it was important that we noticed them quite early and it didn't develop into longer injuries that would require missing matches.

Above all - a great help from the coaching staff, and I would like to give the biggest compliments to the physiotherapists - Tom and Martyn, who did a lot of work last month. They rehabilitated the players, took care of them, worked extra hours. I think that's why I had the full composition during a tough month. Of course, one of my main goals as a coach is to have all the players healthy. During the season, this is quite difficult, but the processes that I can control - training process, loads, recovery, I think I and the coaching staff managed to regulate quite well. I am delighted with the team - the second difficult part of the championship is ahead“, - summarized the head coach standing at the helm of the „Hegelmann“ team for the fourth season.

The best coach of March was recognized as the „Džiugo“ captain Andrius Lipskis, while in April - the „Žalgiris“ strategist Vladimiras Čeburinas.
