Russian football leaders have something to think about before the 2018 World Cup.

The country continues to struggle with hooligan-like fans, who are notorious for both racist attacks and violence.

The 9th round match of the national championship between Samara's "Krylya Sovetov" and Moscow's "Spartak" clubs on Sunday had to be stopped for 39 minutes as there were disturbances in the guest stands, ending in clashes with police officers.

"Spartak" fans, who reportedly fought among themselves, blamed the home team's fans, accusing them of provoking the fights by throwing bottles and other objects into the stands.

After 10 minutes, the match was resumed, and "Spartak" celebrated a 1-0 victory.
