"In Serie C" team camp - three cases of coronavirus"

The press service of the Italian club "Pianese", which plays in the country's third strongest league ("Serie C"), announced that three team players have been diagnosed with coronavirus, as reported on lrytas.lt portal.

This is the first case in the world of sports where a club officially acknowledged the virus in its team. Three "Pianese" players and one club employee have been infected.

"At the moment, all footballers and technical staff who participated in the away match last weekend are in home quarantine," - stated in the information provided by the "Pianese" club.

"Pianese" has gathered 24 points and currently occupies the 19th place in the "Serie C" championship Group A.

The outbreak of the coronavirus was detected in China at the end of 2019. As of February 29, according to data, 85 thousand people worldwide have been infected, 2923 individuals have died, and 39 thousand have recovered.

On February 23, the virus reached Italy, where there are 600 infected individuals and 17 deaths.

In Italy's football leagues, 40 matches have already been canceled (mostly in lower leagues) or games have been held without spectators.

In "Seria A" championship, the matches between Milan "Inter" and Genoa "Sampdoria", Bergamo "Atalanta" and "Sassuolo", Verona and "Cagliari" were canceled.
