In the Spanish "La Liga" championship on Saturday, four matches of the 31st round were played.
In the race for the champions title, "Barcelona" faced "Leganes" at home. The Catalans easily defeated their opponents from the Madrid province with a score of 3-1.
Lionel Messi led the victorious team to victory - the Argentine scored two goals in the first half and built a solid lead. The striker scored one goal from his favorite penalty area on the right side.
In the second half, the opponents managed to reduce the deficit, but they had no more chances, and L. Messi completed his hat-trick in the 87th minute.
"Barcelona" gained a 12-point lead over their closest pursuers. It is likely that the lead will not diminish, as tomorrow there will be a Madrid derby.
In an unexpected upset, "Sevilla" suffered a defeat against "Celta" in Vigo. Iago Aspaso's hat-trick and one own goal allowed Celta to celebrate a 4-0 victory.
The remaining two matches ended with victories for "Real Betis" and "Alaves."
