In Spain - M. Odegaard's Pass Leaving Competitors Without a Promise

Norwegian football diamond Martin Odegaard continues to silence critics who criticized him several years ago.

The 20-year-old footballer belonging to Madrid's "Real" club went on loan to San Sebastian's "Real Sociedad" this summer, currently occupying the second position in the Spanish "La Liga" championship.

Having also played in the Netherlands on loan for the past 2.5 years, the Norwegian is currently considered by most experts to be the best player of this season in the Spanish championship - in the first six matches, the versatile midfielder scored two goals and in the recent match, he made a productive pass leaving both opponents and teammates behind.

On Thursday evening, "La Real" crushed "Alaves" with a score of 3:0. The first goal came right after an excellent play by the Norwegian - receiving the ball near the center of the field, he dribbled it past the opponent's legs and through two defensive lines sent a pass to the penalty area, where Mikel Oyarzabal only had to deal with the goalkeeper.

In these matches, M. Odegaard could easily have made several more productive passes, but his teammates did not take advantage of the great opportunities.

In the match against "Alaves", the Norwegian created a total of 10 chances that could have turned into goals. This is the highest number of chances created in the La Liga championship since the 2016-17 season.

Madrid's "Real" have loaned the Norwegian to the Basques until the end of the season with the possibility of extending the cooperation for another year.

Since the start of the 2016/17 season, no player has created more chances in a single LaLiga game than Martin Ødegaard's 10 vs. Alavés.
