On Sunday in the Spanish "La Liga" championship, the remaining eight matches of the 37th round were played.
Madrid's "Real" club clashed with "Sevilla" in front of their fans. Zinedine Zidane's team comfortably defeated the Andalusians with a score of 4-1 and moved closer to the title.
The match started successfully for the "Real" team - already in the 10th minute, the hosts took the lead. "Sevilla" committed a foul near the penalty area, and defender Nacho, without hesitation, sent the ball into the goal before the "Sevilla" team could react.
No long wait was needed for the second goal - in the 23rd minute, Cristiano Ronaldo scored from a few meters away. Throughout the rest of the first half, "Sevilla" tried to find a way back and were saved from conceding by excellent goalkeeping from Keylor Navas.
In the second half, the visitors from Andalusia finally managed to score their goal when Steven Jovetic scored. However, the "Whites" did not intend to let the victory slip away and in the 78th minute, they regained a two-goal advantage with a fantastic goal from C. Ronaldo.
The final touch came in the 84th minute, with Toni Kroos scoring after a great pass from Nacho.
In other matches, "Barcelona", also fighting for the title, crushed "Las Palmas" with the same result. In these matches, the same scenario unfolded - the Catalans scored two goals first, then "Las Palmas" reduced the deficit but soon conceded two more goals.
Neymar stood out in the match, scoring three goals, while Luis Suarez added another.
Both "Barcelona" and "Real" have 87 points, but the home advantage is with the Madrid team. Barcelona has one more game to play, while the "Whites" still have two matches left. So, "Real" only needs to achieve one more victory and at least play a draw.
Victories were also achieved by "Deportivo Alaves" and "Sporting Gijon". "Atletico Madrid" played a draw with "Real Betis" in Seville, unable to defeat the local team.
It is already clear that together with Pamplona's "Osasuna" and "Granada", "Sporting Gijon" will depart from the championship. And "Sevilla", having suffered a defeat against "Real", is now below the fourth position and will not fall this season.
