Preparing for participation in the next season of the UEFA Cup, Marijampolė continues to strengthen and this time signed a contract with former Vilnius "Žalgiris" team goalkeeper Karolis Jasaitis.
The 23-year-old signed a two-year contract with the Marijampolė team. The financial terms of the contract are not disclosed. As the player stated on the official "A lyga" website, his choice to play for "Sūduva" instead of the Bialystok "Jagiellonia" team, where he participated in trials, was influenced by his desire to stay in his homeland.
He is the second newcomer to join the Marijampolė team from the capital. Before him, a former "Žalgiris" and Lithuanian youth national team defender signed a contract with the club.
By the way, Marijampolė's "Sūduva" was one of the first teams to start preparations for the new season. Currently, some of the foreign players are returning to the Marijampolė team after the holidays, and in late January, Brazilians and Jose Cordeiro are expected to join as well.
This Friday, "Sūduva" will play friendly matches at the "Sportimos" football center in Vilnius against the country's vice-champions FBK, in what will be their last matches before the Unity Cup tournament. The match will start at 12:30.
