In the previous World Cup, Asian teams that impressed will meet in their continent championship early on.

After the group stage in the Asian Cup, the knockout stage pairs were determined. In the quarterfinals, South Korean and Saudi Arabian footballers will clash.

The South Korean team advanced from the group stage in the World Cup, while Saudi Arabia defeated future champions from Argentina.

In Group E, South Korea finished second, behind Bahrain's footballers, so a stronger opponent awaits them in the next stage.

Australia is on the side of the knockout tree with these teams. On the other side, against stronger teams, are Iran, Japan, and Qatar. All of these teams finished first in their groups.
