On Friday evening, the first 8th round matches of the Spanish "La Liga" championship were played.
An extraordinary duel took place at the "San Mames" stadium - two teams from the Basque region faced each other. In a high-scoring match, the San Sebastian team of "Real Sociedad" triumphed in the opponent's field - 3:1.
In the 30th minute, Mikel Oyarzabal converted a penalty kick from 11 meters and put "La Real" in the lead. However, Bilbao's "Athletic" quickly equalized - already in the 32nd minute Iker Muniain scored the equalizer for the visitors.
In the second half, the "Real Sociedad" team managed to prove their advantage - in the 47th minute Luca Sangalli put the visitors in the lead again, and in the 74th minute M. Oyarzabal sealed the victory with another penalty kick.
After the victory, "Real Sociedad" climbed to the 8th position. "Athletic", who have already taken points from Madrid's "Real" and "Barcelona" this season, are currently ranked 16th.
