The Lithuanian national men's team presented a surprise on Tuesday evening, playing 2:2 at home in the European Championship qualifying match with the Hungarian team.
A victory for Hungary in these matches would have paved the way for next year's European Championship, but they will have to wait until next month for official confirmation.
However, the Hungarians currently appear to be the most likely candidates to win the group and qualify for the championship. They should be accompanied by the Serbian team, which also secured a victory on Tuesday.
Dragan Stojkovič's players defeated Montenegro's team 3:1 at their stadium and secured their thirteenth point. For much of the match, the score was 1:1, but in the second half of the second half, the Serbians scored two goals and solidified their victory.
Meanwhile, Bulgaria, who played against Lithuania on Saturday, played friendly matches on Tuesday. However, Mladen Krstajić's team did not perform well - in an away match, they lost 0:2 to the Albanian team.
The qualifying matches will end in November. The next matches on November 16th will see Bulgaria play at home against Hungary, while the Lithuanian team will face Montenegro away. Meanwhile, the Serbian team will play friendly matches against Belgium on November 15th.
