In the Champions League qualification - surprise of the Luxembourgians © EuroFootball.com

"F91 Dudelange" became the first Luxembourg team in 42 years to cross the first threshold of the UEFA Champions League. On Wednesday evening, the Luxembourg club defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina champions "HSK Zrinjski" in Mostar by 4-0, despite losing the first leg at home 1-0. There was a real drama in Bosnia and Herzegovina: as the hosts had the advantage of an away goal, at the end of the match it seemed like they would progress to the next stage, but in the second added minute of extra time a legionnaire from Poland, Thomas Gruszczynski, allowed the guests to force overtime. No one expected what happened in extra time: "F91 Dudelange" scored three goals and moved on to the next stage, where they will face Vienna's "Rapid". Our Latvian neighbors were not so lucky: even though "Skonto" Riga won 1-0 against Macedonian champions "Rabotnicki" in the second leg at home, it was not enough to overturn the Macedonians' 6-0 victory from the previous week. Wednesday's match results (teams that progressed are highlighted): Mostar "Zrinjski" (Bosnia and Herzegovina) 0 - 4 "Dudelange" (Luxembourg) after extra time (Overall result 1-4, first leg 1-0) Yerevan "Pyunik" (Armenia) 2 - 2 Valkeakoski "Haka" (Finland) (2-3, 0-1) Riga "Skonto" (Latvia) 1 - 0 Skopje "Rabotnicki" (Macedonia) (1-6, 0-6) "Hafnarfjordur" (Iceland) 1 - 2 Baku "Neftchi" (Azerbaijan) (1-4, 0-2) "Shelbourne" (Ireland) 4 - 1 "Glentoran" (Northern Ireland) (6-2, 2-1) Bratislava "Artmedia" (Slovakia) 4 - 1 Almaty "Kairat" (Kazakhstan) after extra time (4-3, 0-2) Famagusta "Anorthosis" (Cyprus) 1 - 0 Minsk "Dinamo" (Belarus) (2-1, 1-1) Tiraspol "Sheriff" (Moldova) 2 - 0 "Sliema Wanderers" (Malta) (6-1, 4-1) "Tirana" (Albania) 3 - 0 "Gorica" (Slovenia) (3-2, 0-2)
