After half a year, a "wage cap" could be introduced in the English Championship. The Mirror reported that the English Football League (EFL) is considering implementing restrictions for at least a 12-month period. It is said that due to the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, teams will have a limit placed on paying salaries, and clubs will have to deal with approximately 15-20 million pounds sterling over the season. Changes in the second most powerful English championship would be introduced from the beginning of 2021, so that clubs could sort out their financial books within half a year.
