In the Classic South American Football - "Boca Juniors" and "River Plate" Equals

On Sunday, a duel that took place in Buenos Aires between the teams "Boca Juniors" and "River Plate" competing for the "Copa Libertadores" trophy attracted quite a lot of attention worldwide.

"Copa Libertadores" in South America is essentially the same as the UEFA Champions League in Europe. This year is exceptional - both Argentine teams defeated strong opponents from Brazil in the semi-finals and are now competing against each other for one of the most prestigious trophies in the history of football.

There are two final matches played in this tournament - the first match took place at the "Boca Juniors" stronghold, and the second leg will be at the "River Plate" stadium on November 24th.

The rivalry between "Boca Juniors" and "River Plate" is equivalent to the European "El Clasico" version. The match was supposed to take place on Saturday, but due to heavy rain in Argentina, it was postponed to Sunday.

The confrontation began with intense play from both teams. In the 34th minute, "Boca Juniors" pleased their passionate fans by scoring the first goal, but the visitors equalized in the next attack.

However, at the end of the first half, "Boca Juniors" regained the lead when Dario Benedetto scored from a set-piece. "River Plate" found ways to respond in the second half and scored an own goal in the 61st minute.

"Boca Juniors" failed to take the lead for the third time in these matches, and the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

It is worth noting that the winner of this tournament will compete in the FIFA Club World Cup at the end of December, where they will most likely face European champions defending Madrid's "Real".
