The Conference League was shaken by a match-fixing scandal.
As reported by "The Athletic", two possible fixed bets matches were recorded in the third-ranked tournament in the Old Continent.
It is claimed that the criminals could have infiltrated the Conference League qualifying matches between the clubs "Alashkert" and "Arsenal Tivat", as well as Riga RFS and "Makedonija GP".
Suspicious results were recorded in the return matches of both pairs.
The Armenian "Alashkert" crushed Montenegro's "Arsenal Tivat" 6:1 and with a combined score of 7:2 advanced to the next stage. Meanwhile, the Latvians showed no mercy with a 4:1 victory over the North Macedonian team, allowing them to become the winners of the pair with a total score of 5:1.
However, both RFS and "Alashkert" faced stronger opponents in later stages and ended their performance in this tournament.
